The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie two Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services on the community.
SASSA will likely be rendering companies such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In an announcement, the agency explained it can be alarmed concerning the large amount of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The purpose of your Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a high number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This can be as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no totally functional office dedicated to service the area regularly. The company place made for intervention encounters a higher inflow of likely beneficiaries, which makes it complicated for that office to attend to all people SRD who visit a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional assets to enable the servicing of all shoppers and boost usage of Social Assistance expert services,” the agency said.
